Hosted by Will Strickland Will's career started
in 1986 as a young deejay at a small station in Texas while in high school. This led to his
own college radio show while attending Rice
University in Houston where he launched
UrbanArt Marketing and Promotions, a consulting firm that offered business
solutions to the entertainment and urban fashion industries, including Nike,
HBO & Coca-Cola. Will then moved into the corporate world working for
several record labels such as; Uptown, Badboy, RCA and Epic/Sony Music. Somehow,
he managed to sandwich a brief professional basketball career in San Antonio, Toronto, Caracas, Venezuela
and Sao Paulo, Brazil during this period and earned
his Masters Degree. He then created and taught a seminal course on hip hop
culture at the University
of Massachusetts-Amherst.
Today, he is the creator, host & executive producer of several television
properties; serves as Co-Principal of Keikwalk Consulting; the Co-Executive
Director of Project Logic, and the President of the Urban Music Association of
Canada.

Music by Agile
Agile aka Ajene Griffith began rapping at a time when there
was no urban radio, no BET, and only a small, budding hip-hop scene in Canada. After a
talent show win in high school he knew music was his passion. Today, Agile and his
unique sound are in demand from the best artists coming from the US and Canada,
such as: BrassMunk, Big Black Lincoln, Method Man, Nas, Kardinal Offishall,
Dwele, Jully Black & Ivana Santilli.

Featuring performances by...
Comedian Jay Martin
Toronto
Sun columnist, Nicholas Davis, referred to Martin as "one of Canada's
fastest rising black comics". Jay Martin's comedy is a must see. Jay Martin has shielded his early life tragedies with a comedic
front. Rather than showing his pain and allowing people to feel sorry
for him, Martin became the neighbourhood clown and made people laugh
everywhere he went. His
refreshing style of humour will have you laughing uncontrollably as he
takes you on a journey like none other. Once you see him on stage, you
can't imagine that there is any other place he'd rather be. |
Alana Bridgewater who recently took Toronto by storm as the Killer Queen in the Mirvish Production of « We Will Rock You », just released her debut CD. Alana began her career at very early age as a member of the Canadian
Children's Opera Chorus and the Toronto Mendelssohn Youth Choir, where
she was quickly promoted to soloist. She has toured with jazz great
Joe Sealy and his quartet, was a member of the Nathaniel Dett Chorale
and was the voice for Toronto's 2008 Olympic Bid Song. Her recent
credits include In A Jam (CBC Television), Little Shop of Horrors (St. Lawrence Stage Company), Womens' Blues Revue in Toronto and Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (Stage West). |
Dane Hartsell was originally inspired by his older brother
Clayton to pick up the guitar and play around with it. At 21, he began exploring
hard rock, metal and hip hop rhythms and ideas, taking his music to new places.
His talent eventually lead him to touring with Eva Avila, the 2007 Canadian
Idol winner, as well as performing with soul diva Divine Brown at a Hurricane
Katrina benefit. John Levine of the Philosopher Kings is currently
collaborating with him on his upcoming album.

Jermaine Richards was born and raised in Toronto Canada where he started singing at the
age of 8 years old in his church choir. He is a former Season 2
Canadian Idol finalist and has since then toured across Asia for 3
years as an entertainer. He is now training to hone his natural ability
to act and is exploring as many opportunities he can that will further
develop his skill. He is also a singer/songwriter currently working on
an r&b/soul project and intends on releasing it in the latter part
of 2008. He thanks God daily for his gifts and talents and looks
forward to the bright future that lies ahead of him. |
