September 2009 Update
Let's hope the Fall is filled with bright, cool days so we can get in some of the cycling we missed on all those rainy summer days. Remember if you are going out in the late afternoon to wear bright clothes and attach a blinking light to your saddle bag as it gets dark early.

Fall is also the time to get back to work on developing our bike path from Vermont to CT. This month's newsletter highlights some training opportunities and local bike path committee meetings. Our goal this year is to further define bike routes and enlist community support. We hope to hold public meetings to share our implementation plan and move the vision plan to a reality.

Community Ride
Housatonic Heritage Weekend - Sunday, Oct 4
As part of the Housatonic Heritage Hiking Weekends, BBPC is leading a bike ride along the Housatonic River. This is a great way to preview a potential route and enlist public support for Sheffield's efforts to develop a bike path. The group will meet at Sheffield Town Hall on Sunday at 10 AM and will return to the start by noon. Cyclists of all ages and abilities are welcome. This is a good opportunity for riders who are less familiar with road riding to enjoy beautiful country roads. For more information see event 30 on the Heritage Walks List.
