Implementation Plan Presented to Congressman Olver

In addition to receiving a BBPC golf shirt - Congressman Olver received our countywide implementation plan. He was most impressed with the commitment from 11 towns/cities and the vision map. (available on BBPC and BRPC web sites. Maps are now valuable in all town and city halls.) A long standing bike path advocate, Congressman Olver promised to continue to support funding for bike path, increase access to enhancement funding, and assist with negotiations with the railroads.
Special thanks to Christine Neumann for her work in organizing this excellent presentation. Now we must work to make the vision a reality.

Special Thanks to Charles Tracy
We have certainly benefited from our two year National Park Service Assistance grant. Charles Tracy has shared his expertise, positive energy and organizational skills. Charlie was key in our successful completion of the implementation plan. He helped us develop South County committees and supported their initial efforts ie. Stockbridge's Cycle Route map. And he helped us expand our constituency through the development of the e-newsletter. He also helped us secure some funding from Rails to Trails.

We are hoping that our application for another year of NPS support will be selected and that we will continue to have the privilege of working with Charlie. |
