Chamber Annual Banquet

The Cleveland-Bolivar County Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Banquet Monday, October 1 at the Cleveland Country Club. The accomplishments of the past year were highlighted and several outstanding volunteers were honored. The keynote speaker was Rita George, the Deputy Director of The GRAMMY® Museum, L.A. She offered insight into what to expect with the upcoming GRAMMY® Museum in Cleveland, MS. Approximately 260 community leaders were in attendance.

Education:

College Career Day is Tuesday Nov. 6 at DSU Wyatt Gym.

 

Octoberfest:

There will be a pig unveiled at the festival similar to the horse at the DAA. This project is being donated by Junior Auxillary. Lisa Miller has completed the t-shirt design to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the festival and the 25th anniversary of the bbq contest.

 

Catherine Lavender has planned a Make A Wish 5K run on Saturday morning of Octoberfest.

   

Team Cleveland/Mainstreet

Merchants will be asked to decorate their windows/sidewalk with a fallish theme for Octoberfest.

 

Scott Fuquay is the new landscaper for the City. He will be asked to have mums in the planters before Octoberfest.

 

Ice Skating is scheduled for December 20th, 21st, and 22nd.

 

We will start meeting to plan this year's Shine, Shopping, and Song holiday promotion.

Mission Statement

 The Cleveland-Bolivar County Chamber of Commerce is organized for the purpose of advancing the civic, commercial, industrial, economic, social, and general interest of the people of Cleveland and Bolivar County.  It shall encourage the growth of existing industries and businesses while giving all proper assistance to any new firms or individuals seeking to locate in Cleveland and Bolivar County. This organization will support all those activities believed to be beneficial to the community and the area and will oppose those which might be detrimental. And in general, the Cleveland-Bolivar County Chamber of Commerce shall follow always those policies intended to accomplish the greatest good for the greatest number.
