It's time to switch over to ultrasound and try to clear up some of the confusion about when an ultrasound is needed and why.
"Why might I be told that I need to have a breast ultrasound test after having a mammogram?
There are two common reasons.  First, even if your screening mammogram is normal but shows a lot of dense breast tissue, your doctor may want you to have an ultrasound as well, because ultrasound sometimes can better see cancer in areas of dense tissue.  Second, if there is a possible abnormality on your mammogram, ultrasound can often better characterize it; for example, is it a solid mass or just a benign cyst containing fluid?

DRA Joins the 2009 BWF

     The 2009 Business Women's Forum, Connecticut's
largest and longest-running full-day annual conference for women will be held Tuesday, September 29th at the
Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.  "Bouncing Back: New hopes, New dreams, New Ways" is the theme of the 27th annual Forum, and 20 year veteran broadcaster, Robin Roberts, with ABC-TV's "Good Morning America" since 1995, and ESPN reporter, interviewer, host and play-by-play commentator from 1990  to 2005, will be the afternoon keynote speaker. Ms. Roberts has a personal connection to the event's theme of "Bouncing Back."  A survivor of breast cancer since 2007, Roberts has been an outspoken advocate for increasing awareness of breast cancer and the importance of early detection.
DRA is very excited to once again be a sponsor for the wine and cheese reception which features networking, exhibits and prizes.  For more information about the BWF, its speakers, workshops, tickets or sponsorship opportunities please visit www.2009bwf.com or contact Lynn Ward at the Waterbury Regional Chamber 203-757-0701.
