Greetings! dj

Fall has arrived, the kids are back at school, vacations are over and Breast Cancer Awareness Month will be here in less than a week!  October is our busiest month so make your appointment now for your annual mammogram. All patients that have a mammogram during the month of October will receive the DRA 2008-2009 Women's Personal Planner/Calendar.  Also, remember our Middlebury office, located at Turnpike Office Park on Straits Turnpike, is open for  MRI, CT Scanning, Ultrasound and diagnostic radiology.
If anyone is visiting the Woodbury area on Saturday, October 4th stop in at the community health fair.  Details for the health fair are listed below.  There will be lots of give-a-ways and information for the whole family from local health care providers.  Stop by the DRA table to pick up information on mammography and osteoporosis and receive a free gift!
I hope you all enjoy this splendid fall season!

hyson By Eric Hyson, MD
DRA Radiologist & Chief of Mammography at Waterbury Hospital

Every issue we will take a common myth or misconception concerning mammography or breast health and give you the correct information.  If you have a question that you would like answered please feel free to  contact our office.

"I'm in my seventies now, I really don't need to have a mammogram anymore."
Recent studies have shown benefits of mammography for women even into their eighties.  Remember that if you are in good health at age seventy, you have a life expectancy into your nineties.  The point of having your annual mammogram is to preserve that good health.
