Mike Wiser Solutions and author Michael Beckloff have announced today that they have published a new ebook titled My Egg And Me. It is a wake up call for baby boomers as they plan for their future.

When my family faced a health care crisis, I researched to find out how I could avoid this again. My findings shocked me. I knew I had to enlighten my generation.

My book takes a lighthearted look at baby boomers. I share fun facts about us. We are moving into the elders age group faster than any generation in history. Every day 10,000 boomers turn 65. We are the largest generation in history: estimated to be 78 million in the United States alone.

Fun facts aside, we are about to overwhelm a flawed health care system. The industry is facing a huge staffing crisis. Universities are reporting reduced enrollment in every industry related field.

Few of us know just how expensive long term care (LTC) will be and that the US government will not be able to pay out for so many people at one time. We cannot depend on government agencies. We will have to pay more towards our health care, perhaps paying for all of it. Not just for ourselves, for everyone we support as well.

I want every boomer to ask themselves: How big is your nest egg? Do you have enough saved to retire? Do you know how expensive LTC will be in the near future? Did you include LTC costs in your figures? You need to know the answer to these questions well before you plan to retire.

In my extensive research, I found so many planning tools, alternative care options and assistance programs that I was able to make a crazy good resource section. It will save you countless hours on your planning.

I have an area on my website to encourage discussion. We are a generation of great thinkers and do-ers. We have got to be educated about the problems we face, pay attention, plan ahead and be prepared. We must work together to find solutions.
