Jan Edwards challenges her students to take part in real-world learning opportunities by partnering with community businesses and organizations to assist them with their communication, marketing and journalism needs.  The Mass Communication & Journalism class has accepted the challenge of creating, designing and producing United Way of Fresno County's Community Partner Appreciation event.  Following presentations, a theme was selected, the timeline determined, invitations and marketing materials created and students have been assigned to help oversee every area of the event.  The class has been instrumental in planning and implementing all aspects of the annual Community Partner Appreciation Breakfast.  They even provided the theme
