Celebration of Children's Health
Childrens Health Celebration
More than 140 community leaders, including Governor-Elect Lincoln Chafee, Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts, and Senate President Teresa Paiva Weed gathered yesterday for Rhode Island KIDS COUNT's tenth annual Celebration of Children's Health. State leaders discussed how Rhode Island can increase children's health coverage by stepping up to the Connecting Kids to Coverage Challenge recently issued by U.S. Health and Human Service Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Secretary Sebelius has encouraged states to enroll all children whose family incomes make them eligible for health coverage, but who are not yet covered. Attendees also celebrated the progress the state has made in achieving positive health outcomes for Rhode Island's children. Click to view the event press release and the event presentation.
