Accents In House Designers
The spirit of Accents has always been about nurturing local talent and creative expression in the art of jewelry. In addition to established designers at Accents such as Johanna Torell and myself, my employees consist of apprentice designers--a longstanding tradition that many wonderful jewelry artists have upheld. Our current apprentice designers have all reached a level of skill and recognition in their own right. In this newsletter edition, I am very proud to introduce you to this talented group of creative individuals, whose exciting new collections are now carried in the store!

Marie

"I enjoy working with rutilated stones and mixing oxidized metals with sterling silver. I like how stones have different meanings to many people. To me, rutilated quartz is a reminder that the journey is the reward and if you stay on track you will have a beautiful life to show for it." -Marie

Joy

"Making jewelry is a spiritual experience. I meditate before I create my pieces and allow myself to be used as a creative vessel. When I make jewelry my intention is mix the organic with fashion." -Joy

Cera

"I strive to incorporate my personal passions into my designs, which are nature, music, and poetry. I've recently began adding stones into my designs, carefully picking them with specific meanings and purposes." -Cera

Melissa

"My designs reflect inspirations of imagination and sweet memories. People often mistake a fox for a cat, an owl for an angel, and that's fine with me. It's more about expression and reaction than accuracy. I love for it to be personal and whatever the wearer wants it to be. It's about keeping in touch with your inner brat. Making people smile. Making a statement." -Melissa

Stacking Rings

More popular than ever! We've got lots to choose from, they are great to mix and match and there's something for everyone! We started carrying Gorjana's stacking rings not too long ago and they've been a huge hit! Available in sterling silver, 18K gold vermeil and rose gold vermeil, some even have cubic zirconias to add a little extra sparkle. Kamofie's gold and diamond stacking rings are beautiful. They can be worn as a set, as a single ring or mixed and matched for a more casual look. We carry the single, double and triple diamond versions exclusively at Accents. They also make a great option for wedding bands. Johanna Torell's 18 karat gold branch ring works great on it's own, stacked or even nestled between some single stone rings. Stacking rings are so playful and fun. These are only a few examples of what we carry. We have art deco Argent bands, modern sleek By Boe bands, sculpted Amery Carriere bands, as well as many in Steven Hanna's line that look great worn together. Come on in, we'd be happy to help you put together your own fun and unique stack of rings!

Gold Glossary
There are many different options available today
for achieving the look of gold. You don't have to pay the high price tag or resort to costume jewelry or cheaper metals that may be harmful to the skin. The different options available can get confusing, so we thought we'd explain some of the terms for you.

Gold-Filled A solid layer of gold is bonded to a base metal (usually brass). Can last up to 30 years. Can be polished. 100 times thicker than gold plating.

Gold Plated  A thin layer of gold deposited onto the surface of another metal.
Plating can last a few years.

Gold Vermeil Silver coated with gold. Precious metal all the way through. Use a soft lint-free cloth to clean. Can last many years with proper care. Avoid wearing in shower.

Gold Gold is measured on a scale of 24 karats. 24K is 100% pure gold, very soft and very yellow. 14K is the most commonly used. It is 58% pure,  and very durable.
