NEW PRODUCT - WOW! It's been a busy spring for yours truly. As I shared with you in last month's newsletter, I attended an art material trade show in Phoenix and came away with a lot of new products and information. Well, I was on the road again in June. I was invited to a supplier's "Dealer Workshop". Over two days I attended 22 vendor presentations of art materials; my head was swimming. I absorbed so much product knowledge from such suppliers as Canson, Strathmore, Holbein, Princeton, Pebeo, DaVinci, General Pencil, Krylon, Daler-Rowney & Golden/Williamsburg. Over the next few months I will share some of this information and update you on new product introductions at Jay Mar . 

During the summer we will be receiving many new art material products. So, keep a look out for some great "Dabble Day" events.

If you are wondering what a "Dabble Day" is, I will tell you. In November 2010 I attended a focus group presented by the Palm Beach Post. This focus group presentation dealt with ideas on how Jay Mar could develop the art material business is Stuart. One of the suggestions that came out of this meeting was to allow customers to interact with our products - "Dabble Day" was born. With the encouragement of Marci Rutledge I took this idea off the "back burner" and put "Dabble Day" Monday into action. 

For those of you that have not tried "Dabble Dabble" yet I'll explain the concept. Every Monday, Jennifer or I will remove the wrapping from some of our product and let you - try before you buy. So far we've tested the new Artograph LED Projectors and Light Pads, the various Escoda brushes using oil, watercolor and acrylic paints and Marvelous Marianne's Savvy Soap and SkinSaver barrier cream. In July and August we will have more opportunities for you to try some of our great art products. Check here for the schedule.

I would like to thank all of the Martin County School Art Teachers for their support on the Elementary and Middle School Art Show in the Gallery at Jay Mar. This show was a great success. Many parents, customers and artists enjoyed viewing the work and came away with the knowledge that art is alive in education. The Gallery at Jay Mar and the Elementary & Middle Schools are already working on two shows for next year. 

Currently in the Cultural Courthouse Gallery. Support our local art leagues and visit the Martin County Arts "A Summer Place" display in the Courthouse Gallery until August 26.

Summer Art Classes are in full swing and demand is greater than expected. Several teachers are reporting full summer camp programs while other teachers are offering special programs featuring technique refreshment. See some of the class offerings below.
