Greetings!
JUST RELEASED:
Wow - What a great winter season we had on the Treasure Coast. The classes and workshops were a tremendous success. Jay Mar was able to host some incredible opportunities for learning about new art materials.
- Myles Laventhal - Golden Mediums and Grounds.
- Celia Buchanan - C & T Altered Books using all kinds of STUFF.
- Jean Uhl Spicer - Teaching her exciting watercolor painting techniques.
- Celia Buchanan - Returned for a workshop using various Golden Grounds and Mediums.
Our local ART Scene is thriving. Art is selling again. Several artists have been getting commissions. This is great news!
Jay Mar will be working with several of the art leagues in 2011-2012 to host work shops in the Studio and Gallery.
NEW PRODUCT - I recently attended the National Art Materials Trade Association's annual convention and trade show in Phoenix, Arizona where I saw some great new product and I learned about some old standbys, too.
You will see several new products added to our great selection of art supplies over the next few months. One of the products I'm really excited about was introduced to me by Gianni Maimeri. Gianni's family has been manufacturing oil paints in Italy for over 250 years. Gianni will be visiting us in October. We are planning a lecture where he will introduce his new transparent oil paint line "Olio HD" during our October Gallery Exhibit of Oil and Acrylic Paintings.
Olio HD
A range of 30 oil colors, particularly suited to painting on smooth or semi-rough surface, white, pale or prepared with micaceous bases of pearly color. Iridescent pigments, pearls or metallics can be added to individual colors, as the artist prefers.
UNCONVENTIONAL
- New colors have entered the imagination of the contemporary and younger generations, added to those of nature and inorganic chemistry. They are hues of a colorful dreamscape. They are the colors of video, of high-definition, of the liquid crystals of the virtual. Unconventional colors coming out from the stereotype traditional oil paints.
HI-LIGHTING
- The colors aren't opaque and muted but have luminosity and vibrant transparency. Thanks to their composition and grinding, HD oil colors allow light to pass in a diffused fashion. They have properties the opposite of opacity. They are limpid, translucent, and their non-absorption of light is due to their excellent optical transmission.
ULTRA VIVID
- The immaterial and luminous ghost of the daydreams, monitors, social networks, video games or 3D technology. Bright colors, lively, brilliant based on high concentrations of organic-synthesis pigment.
This paint is formulated with very fluid, very bright drying oils. It is recommended that thinning be made with the appropriate mediums, useful for all lines of oil paints.
