Artist Trading Card Swap
There will be an "Artist Trading Card Swap" on Saturday, February 12 starting at 10 AM. Bring 10 of your original works of art. This swap will be artist choice, you can do anything your heart desires. The only rule is that they must be 2 ½ by 3 ½ inches. Remember to put your name, date, and any other information you would like on the back. Get creative! You can use any medium you would like, paint, clay, textile, metal, glass, collage...you are only limited by your imagination. This is a free swap. You will not be selling these miniatures, you will be trading them for other works of art. Come exchange ideas and get some inspiration!

JUST RELEASED:
We have put together a two-day workshop featuring the Golden Mediums that were presented in January. Because of the popularity of the seminar I was able to convince Celia Buchanan to offer this workshop. I didn't realize she was a Golden "Working Artist". So, now is your opportunity to get your fingers dirty as we say.
We have two spaces available for our one-day workshop on Surface Design Techniques with Textile Artist Celia Buchanan on Sunday, March 6 from 10 AM - 4 PM. This new product group was recently introduced at the Palm City Art Associates - January 24th meeting. Celia's Fabric Art Collage Technique "The Buddha Book" was so well received we created a workshop for you to get your hands dirty. Celia's classes are always fun and educational. Be sure to act fast on this opportunity.

Scottish Artist and Masters Degree Graduate from the City University in London and Lecturer at the Boca Museum School of Art; Celia Buchanan has been working in her field for over 20 years. She now works and lives in SE FL and teaches throughout the SE USA. Celia's chosen medium is surface design which she now incorporates into acrylic mixed media pieces.

Day One: Acrylic Faux Finishing Techniques. Learn how to create beautiful surfaces using faux and glazing techniques that can be applied in a myriad of applications. Mixed and Water Media Techniques. From transfers and gel skins to molding pastes and beyond.

Day Two: Enjoy experimenting with various transfer and water media techniques using a variety of products to easily create complex looking layered finishes. Digital techniques. Turn just about any relatively flat surface into a printable substrate and achieve crisp clear images on acrylic skins, metal foils, specialty papers, fabric and much more.
