Hilary SmithAnna Getty is a holistic lifestyle expert, chef, pre-natal yoga teacher and founder of Pregnancy Awareness Month (PAM). She currently sits on the Advisory Board's of the Environmental Media Association and Healthy Child, Healthy World. May 2009 marks the second year of PAM, the objective of which is to offer four key initiatives: education, exercise, nutrition/wellness, and nurture. Getty's goal is to empower pregnant women with information that inspires them to incorporate those four initiatives into their daily routines.

Barbara Nicholson
and Lysa Parker are the co-founders of Attachment Parenting International, a non-profit organization that promotes parenting practices that create strong, healthy emotional bonds between children and their parents, and co-authors of a new book, Attached At The Heart: 8 Proven Principles for Raising Connected and Compassionate Children.

barbaraBarbara Nicholson holds a master's degree in Education, specializing in learning disabilities. She is long-time volunteer of Le Leche League International and has trained as a facilitator in the Nurturing Parenting Program. Nicholson has also served on the development committee for the Maternal Infant Health Outreach Worker (MIHOW) Program at Vanderbilt University.

Lysa ParkerLysa Parker has a master's degree in Human Development and Family Studies, is a Certified Family Life Educator (C.F.L.E.), and is a trained facilitator for the Nurturing Parenting Program. Paker has a bachelor's degree in Education, specializing in special education - working with children with multiple handicaps and/or learning disabilities.

API's principal goal is to heighten global awareness of the profound significance of secure attachment - not only to invest in our children's bright futures, but to reduce and ultimately prevent emotional and physical mistreatment of children, addiction, crime, behavioral disorders, mental illness, and other outcomes of early unhealthy attachment.
