NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - March 10, 2008 - Media Alert - Imagine an event where Amy Brenneman discusses how toxic chemical and environmental pollutants affect children; Ed Begley, Jr. inspires hope for the future, while signing copies of his new book "Living Like Ed"; and Erin Gray gets everybody moving, as she leads an interactive freestyle hula-hoop extravaganza - Hoopnotica!

All of this and much more awaits you at this year's Whole Children, Whole Planet Expo, the premier natural parenting and family expo, taking place May 17-18, 2008 at Highland Hall Waldorf School in Northridge.

Explore an eco-village filled with hands-on learning experiences; visit the STAR Eco-Station's award-winning walk-through rainforest; learn about sustainable living practices, science (solar and wind power, etc.), music and art -- an adventure for all ages.

Other highlights of the weekend include environmentally safe and natural products; a food court with healthy, tasty treats; 200 exhibitors; raffle giveaways and three stages with education and entertainment.

The Main Stage features celebrities, authors and experts sharing their wisdom about natural health, holistic medicine and environmental issues. Panel discussions provide a forum for experts to weigh in on the hot-button topics of the day. Scheduled speakers include Ed Begley Jr, Amy Brenneman, Betsy Chasse (What The Bleep Do We Know?), Anna Getty, Jay Gordon, M.D., Lisa Garr (The Aware Show), Sherry Beall (Healthy Planet, Healthy Me - Eco Radio), Councilman Greig Smith, Bill Stierie (from Scott Baio's 46 and Pregnant show) and other special guests.

The Whole Foods Market Sponsored Celebrity Kitchen spotlights celebrities, natural gourmet chefs and company owners sharing information about nutrition, organic foods and global issues, in an informal kitchen setting. Scheduled speakers include Sandra Tsing Loh, Cambria Gordon (co-author The Down To-Earth Guide to Global Warming/Laurie David), Chef Sue Campbell, Dr. Richard Visser, Gay Browne (Greenopia) and other special guests.

The Yoga, Reading & Music Stage presents celebrities and authors reading children's books, musical performances, interactive theater groups and yoga demonstrations. Scheduled performers include The Miracle Project Kids - Miracles on the Move, a group of special needs children from the Award-Winning documentary "Autism: The Musical", FoodPlay, an Emmy Award-winning theatrical production about nutrition and health; Rhythm Child, an interactive percussion group that encourages creativity and musical expression among kids and adults; and the Ohmies, a participatory theatrical experience that merges world music, yoga and creative problem solving techniques.

WCWP Expo is the brainchild of Kathy Arnos, a California-based mother, author and producer, who recognized a need for guidance and education in the community. "My hope is that the Expo offers families a type of handbook for building positive role models, both within children, and adults, which will help create empowered balanced families, and a healthier planet for our future."
