I don't know exactly when the story will run. But it is planned for Tuesday morning. If news more important than me comes up, then my segment might be pushed to another day.

Greetings!
One morning last July I closed my eyes and, with my mind's eye, peered into the future for a psychic vision. It's a simple exercise of mine, where I envision, what I intend to be, a personal guiding symbol. The symbol that comes is usually foreign to me and somewhat surreal, but I always try to accept whatever it is anyway, even if, at the time, its significance is lost on me. I write down what comes in my psychic journal. Then I see where it leads.
On this particular day, my vision was of a proud eagle with a metal breast. Upon seeing it, I was, as you can imagine, perplexed. But immediately I began free associating, translating the picture into words. A metal bird is... an airplane? Perhaps.
I was in fact about to get on one within the week, to fly home to New York (as I was in Tokyo at the time of this vision). And I was even to fly on a Japan Airlines jet which features a bird on its tail!
But that bird is a crane. An eagle would be more like a symbol of America, wouldn't it? An eagle flies high. Could I be rising to new heights in America? Going national?
What a neat interpretation! I wrote my thoughts down in my journal, wondering how it might at all come to pass.
I've been working on getting more roles on film and television. Perhaps this will be about my acting career. Then again, I want to share about my visions in the exciting dimension of symbolic reality with more people. Maybe this would be about my psychic work.
I let the vision go and set about my day, for I had clients to see. In Japan, a language translator sits between me and each client. The translator translates everything I say and everything my client says. Come to think of it, I am also a kind of translator, but of symbols appearing in my vision, and on my trusty postcards!
Just before 11am, my translator arrived, followed by my client, a woman in her thirties. My client sat down at the table, held up a key chain ornament, and said, "I brought you a gift." It was a little metal bird hanging on a ribbon.
I was stunned! "My bird!" I said, "I dreamed this this morning. Arigato Gozaimasu!"
One of my ideas about this game of peering into symbolic reality is that when the symbol you envision approaches you in such a literal way, there's some truth to it. Later that evening I looked a little more closely at the bird and was somewhat dismayed to find that it wasn't an eagle at all! It was a rooster! No wonder it was proud, with its chest out.
I also thought, metal could be mettle! Perhaps my mettle will be tested. Derek, are you Eagle? ...or are you Chicken? I guess nothing great in life is easy.
Last week, when CNN called me asking if I were willing to be interviewed on camera, I thought, here is my national exposure. When I was told it would run on American Morning between 6 to 9am eastern time, I smiled at the cleverness of the rooster. He calls out at the crack of dawn!

You can try this psychic visioning exercise yourself. Anyone can do it. Anywhere, at anytime. Just close your eyes, say a quiet prayer (making sure to ask the Universe for a guiding symbol) and use your imagination to let a simple, surreal symbol come to you. It will probably be foreign, and cause you to wonder, but those wonderings just might lead you somewhere... wonderful!
