I had the opportunity to visit Gentel Dental on Tuttle Ave/Waldemere for an introductory price of $49, which included an exam, X-rays and cleaning. Dr Johnson is the one I saw and I liked him very much. I've already recommended him to a close friend.
 
I go to Dr. Judy LoSecco who is an outstanding dentist and has a caring, competent staff. Her office is on 41 right after Siesta Drive. New patient exam is $59. I have been going there for years. Her # is 941-366-8510.

We love Dr. Janet Bailey. She is not the cheapest but the best. She came recommended by another sufi - (941) 924-7928

I would highly recommend Dr. Cori Hvideberg. She is on Arlington, off Osprey. She is excellent, caring, and has a small, personable staff who are also excellent. She has done one of nearly everything for me over the past few years - caps, bridges, root canal, extraction, fillings, gum work, etc. She takes a personal interest in her patients and strives to give them what they need, not what she wants them to have. She is always willing to fit you in before, during, and after hours for emergencies. She even met me on a Sunday one time when I was in pain

I use Dr. Mercer,922-1818 - he's at corner of weber and beneva.I like him - very staight forward and capable.  He takes Signature dental insurance which is low cost insurance that my other dentist wouldn't take.

Dr. David Sundeen - he is in practice in Gulf Gate and is the best dentist I have ever had.

Mark Fleming (359-2151) is a dentist I have used for at least twelve years. He does excellent work and works pretty wholistically. He is really careful and solved a problem for me that no other dentist had been able to do.

Dr. Todd McCabe - 941-377-3659 - Taywood Avenue in the Meadows, North Sarasota - thorough and honest, but maybe too expensive as his cleaners add all sorts of preventive extras for $130. I just know it took me two bad dentists before a respected friend recommended Dr. McCabe

Dr Michael R Dorociak, 3900 Clark Rd - 924-1100 - I have been going to him for over ten years. He won favorite dentist for several years in that local poll. He is very nice and caring, won't suggest you do stuff you don't need and teaches in Clearwater so he is up on the latest.

Glori Enzo - I have been wanting a natural leaning, respectful dentist for a long time and I found her. So wonderful!

When you find one you like, there is a site - http://dentalplans.com/ -that gives about 15 discount plans for services at a lot of dentists. You can call the dentist and ask them what discount plans they take, then go on the site and see if any of the plans are there. If there are, look and see how much the discounted amounts are for some common items, then call the dentist office and ask what the cost is for them if you don't have any plan - that way you can see if the plan is worth it. I think the plans have a roughly $120 annual fee, and if the savings exceed that then it's worth doing.

i have a great dentist, dr janet bailey, in gulfgate. i have sent many friends and sufis there,  and all love her. the staff is warm and friendly, the office is relaxed, and dr bailey is a wonderful dentist and a very smart and kind person. 941-924-7928 -  a few doors down from the chocolate shop in the gulfgate center

Hi, I really like my dentist in the gulf gate area, Dr. Bailey.  She's careful and competent. I like the hygienist too, but just noticed that bottom front tooth looks a different shape after intense cleaning and wonder if she might have polished off too much?  I'm very concerned about this and am wondering how to approach them about it. In any case, I think Dr. Bailey is excellent.

Re: dentist--depends what your needs are. I have just been to see Dr. Richard Stanley - He specializes in reconstructive, cosmetic, and neuromuscular dentistry. I have a special need (tmj problem), which I need a splint and possible bite correction for, and needed a redo on a root canal. Just had the root canal done yesterday  and think Dr. Stanley is excellent. Not cheap -- but do not know how it compares with others. If you just need a good general dentist, he may not be the one you need to see. However, if you have some "special" needs (tmj, root canal, implants, cosmetic, etc), I am very impressed with him.
