Greetings! Spring is trying so hard to get here! Keep your fingers crossed that it's just around the corner.
Spring reminds us of fresh fruit like, well, peaches. So what better time than now to present Junior Theatre's "James & the Giant Peach." Come see this fabulous production directed by Jenny Anne Koppera and featuring 34 fabulous young actors.
Performances are Thursday-Saturday at 7:30pm, and Saturday and Sunday at 1pm, at the College Theater inside WCC's Crane Liberal Arts Building. Tickets are only $5.00! Tix available by phone or at the door. And read here for our thoughts about the Junior Theatre program. |

PASSINGS... A few friends and members of A2CT have recently (& not so recently) passed away. Allan Dreyfuss passed away just this week. Allan was a longtime member of A2CT and was one of our reps at CTAM. Allan was also a playwright. He won a CTAM playwriting competition and had his play, "813:American Fiction" produced with us in 1999. He leaves his dear companion, Pat Pooley, who is also a longtime active member. Rosia Mitchell, who was the amazing gospel singer in "Big River," Velma in "Chicago" with Charlie Sutherland and Kerry Graves and Lola in "Damn Yankees" with Bev Pooley--all in the 90's--passed away last week. Charlie remembers her as "this beautiful, powerhouse performer, whose voice suggested the opposite of her real character. She was sweet, quiet, and religious. She was one of those fabulous performers who just 'showed up' when there was a special show." |

We've been going through some of our archives lately, and were struck by a couple of names that popped with almost every show starting in the 40's. Cropping up most often were Howard & Margaret Fox, and we realized that we didn't pay tribute to Margaret, who passed away last year. Howard & Margaret were very active in all aspects of the theater--volunteering to run lights, help with set building, handle our bulk mailings almost exclusively for many years, and holding season tickets for maybe as long as we've had them! Margaret is certainly missed. Howard is still going strong, attending all of our productions as well as many throughout the community, and is a real joy to speak with!
