Greetings!

How did we get to Mother's Day so fast?

Here's our monthly run-down on what's new at BostonChefs.com. I think you'll find our Mother's Day Dining Guide this year especially fun. Let me know if you have any questions about this or anything else we've got going on BostonChefs.com these days.

Best,

50+ Answers to the perennial question:

Where should we take Mom for Mother's Day?

Abundant brunch buffets, prix fixe menus, special children's dishes--not to mention complimentary champagne, roses, and family photos--are just a few of the treats awaiting local moms at the more than fifty restaurants featured in the Mother's Day Guide found exclusively on BostonChefs.com

"We've been showcasing the dining options for Mother's Day for several years now," says Senior Editor of BostonChefs.com Honor Lydon, "but this year's list of offerings is exceptional for the variety and creativity of chefs' offerings. We're especially pleased to be able to show our readers the actual Mother's Day menus for most of the restaurants featured."

A quick glance at just a few of these special menus tells the story.

At Beacon Hill Bistro, mothers (and their children, of course) can begin the day with a fresh fruit bowl, accompanied by house-made yogurt and a mint and bee pollen tuile. Or maybe your mom (or more likely your dad) has an appetite for heartier fare. In that case, the menu at The Butcher Shop in the South End might be the answer, featuring lamb leg tartine; and rabbit niçoise salad with eggs, radishes, and olives  Or if mom enjoys music as much as she enjoys fine dining, then Café Fleuri's Jazz Brunch will be right up her alley. To make sure that mom actually enjoys her well-deserved break, face painters, caricaturists, and a balloon artist will be on hand to entertain the kids.

This year's Mother's Day extravaganza has arrived in the nick of time, just as the last of the restaurants to extend their Restaurant Week menus throughout the month of April finished up their special promotions this past week. "Judging by our own figures," says BostonChefs.com Director of Marketing Chris Schiavone, "it was an amazing Restaurant Week, with close to 150,000 local diners researching their options on RestaurantWeekBoston.com and thousands of them fanning our Facebook page, following our Tweets, and making their reservations right from the site." This year, Restaurant Week fever gripped the North End, the Newton-Needham area, and Quincy too--all of whom lured diners out of their winter doldrums with the bright promise of fine dining at a reasonable price.

And with temperatures this week expected to rise from the chilly 40s up into the sultry 80s, visitors to BostonChefs.com will have even more reason to exchange their goulashes for flip flops and start browsing our annual Outdoor Dining Guide, which goes live on Monday, May 3. Complete with photos and descriptions of the alfresco spaces at some of area's best eateries, the outdoor guide provides the inside scoop on the decks, patios, and courtyards in Greater Boston where good food meets good mood.
