Habitat in Honduras In addition to the 67 homes we have been built in the cities of Charleston and North Charleston, Charleston Habitat has built 40 homes internationally through the Habitat for Humanity International tithe program.
From May 15-23, 15 CHFH volunteers will travel to La Ceiba, Honduras to build homes. Habitat Honduras is our international tithe partner---for each house we build in Charleston, we send funding to have a home built in La Ceiba as well.
Stop by the Chick-fil-A in North Charleston (corner of Ashley Phosphate and Dorchester roads) on April 10 and we will receive 10% of the proceeds! There will be an informational booth and we will be available to answer any questions about the trip.
To find out more information about the Chick-fil-A event, click here.
The Honduras trip can still use your help! If you would like to donate to our trip, please click here. | |

Meet the Interns
Attention students: Want to work for a nonprofit organization some day? Want to gain valuable experience? Want to help people in the community? An internship at Charleston Habitat for Humanity might be perfect for you! We are now accepting applications for summer internships! Download an application here.

Annie DuPre
This May I will graduate from the College of Charleston
with a major in political science and an African studies
minor. I began volunteering with Habitat for Humanity over a year ago, and
I absolutely love working here. As the Grant Writing intern I work
directly with Stacia Bannerman, the Development Coordinator. I research,
identify and apply for funding for our various programs and projects. This has
allowed me to learn in depth about the work of CHFH and its impact in the
community---and has truly developed my appreciation for this organization even
more. Go Habitat!
Claire Hite
I am a senior, graduating in May with a communication major
and a women's and gender studies minor.
I am the Web site and Internet Development intern at Charleston Habitat
for Humanity. I work mainly with Laurel
Prichard, the Volunteer Coordinator, but I also work with other departments on
occasion. Most of my time is devoted to
designing and writing articles for the monthly newsletter or editing our Web
site, but I also update our social networking sites: Facebook, Twitter,
YouTube, Shutterfly, Blogger, etc. Since
I'm on the media studies track within my major, this internship has helped me
learn a lot about what my future careers will entail---a lot of time logged, a
lot of trial and error and most of all, a lot of research.
Perry Werbitt
I am a senior, graduating in May with a corporate communication
bachelor's degree. I am currently the Youth Outreach intern at Charleston
Habitat for Humanity. For the duration of my internship, I hope to design
projects and ideas to get local youth, of all ages, involved with Habitat.
Youth can be our youngest advocates and getting them involved at a young age
will hopefully spark wonderful lifelong relationships. I found this internship
opportunity appealing because I hope to become a high school guidance
counselor, so this serves as great experience to work with youth as well as
work on my own communication skills. |
