Habitat's Newest Purchase: Joppa Way
There are a number of ways to help support our affordable housing objective, but our current need is lot sponsorships. On December 30, 2009, Charleston Habitat for Humanity purchased 23 lots in the Joppa Way subdivision of Highland Terrace in North Charleston.
To help us keep the cost of building a new home low for the partnering family, we are looking for companies that would like to sponsor a lot for $15,000. The neighborhood has a handful of affordable homes already in place and we intend to blend our homes into the neighborhood over the next three to five years.
We plan to develop the neighborhood using corporate sponsorships, grant funding and individual gifts from our local supporters. This is a phenomenal opportunity for our affiliate and will allow us to continue developing other programs in the surrounding neighborhood such as youth builds and our "A Brush With Kindness" projects.
If you are interested in supporting this project, or you want more information on lot or home sponsorships, please contact Stacia Bannerman, Development Coordinator at (843)722-7145. |
