Charleston Habitat is partnering with the Historic Charleston Foundation and the City of Charleston to improve and restore the Dennis Family's home. This Historic Rehab project will soon begin downtown at 66 Lee Street.
The Dennis Family home will receive a full lead abatement, new foundation and complete indoor remodel. All these projects will be EarthCraft certified, which will reduce utility costs and protect the environment.
The Rehab will take place between February and June 2010. Continue to check our Volunteer Page for opportunities to help with this Historic Rehab.

The Hudson Family
Stacy Hudson has been interested in a Habitat Home for several years and is excited to have been selected for a house in downtown Charleston, where she wants to remain. It was very important for the Hudsons to stay downtown for the children's schools. They will live on North Nassau Street.

Partner Family Pre-purchase Workshops: Homeowner Maintenance Part 1: A Success!
Stacy Hudson and four of Habitat's newly selected partner families attended Part 1 of the Homeowner Maintenance Workshops on January 23. Construction manager Dan Jones taught these women (and Stacy's son Alex) how to measure, cut and saw wood.
Habitat's dedication to teaching the skills necessary to keep up with a home and the families' willingness to learn is what makes our partnerships so special.
They were so proud of learning how to accurately measure and cut with a circular saw, they signed and dated their piece of wood:
