Charleston Habitat for Humanity
November Newsletter 2009
I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catchers mitt on both hands.  You need to be able to throw something back.

Thanks & Giving
For 20 years, Charleston Habitat for Humanity has been dedicated to ending poverty and substandard housing in Charleston and North Charleston! We want to extend a sincere thank you to each person who has given time, sweat, finances, materials, and resources toward making this mission possible.

Together, we have provided simple, decent and affordable homeownership opportunities for  65 local, working families in need.

These 65 families are thankful this year for a safe and decent place to call HOME!

If you have a decent place to call home, will you join us by sponsoring just one square foot of a future home construction project? It's just $54 for one square foot.

  • In the comments section, put what you are thankful for this year.
  • In next month's newsletter, we will note all the things Habitat's supporters are thankful for.

Habitat Volunteer Trip to Honduras
 May 15-23, 2010

Interested in helping build a home for a family in another country? Want to see how Habitat is accomplishing its mission globally? Do you share Habitat's vision of living in a world where everyone has a simple, decent, and affordable place to call home?

Join Charleston Habitat for Humanity volunteers as we go on a Global Village trip to La Ceiba, Honduras. For every home built here in Charleston, we tithe to have a home built in La Ceiba as well. In 2010, we will go and build it ourselves!

Informational meeting will be held on Thursday, November 19th at 6:30pm at the La Hacienda by the Tanger Outlets in North Charleston. Please RSVP to Laurel Prichard if you plan to attend.

Click here to find the Trip Info Pack in the updated news section. $100 trip deposits are due by November 30th.

If you are unable to go on the trip, but would like to support the team by making a financial contribution to the trip, you can donate to the team on Charleston Habitat for Humanity's website - just designate in the comments section what you are contributing to. We hope to raise enough money to make a generous contribution to the Habitat in Honduras as well!

The Charleston Habitat for Humanity is excited to present a recently donated Barbie collection - just in time for Christmas!

All of the Barbies are still in original boxes with accessories.
