Evidence-Based Reflexology for Reflexologists

Evidence-Based Reflexology for Health Professionals and Researchers

Personailzed Charts

Greetings!

First impressions matter in selling your reflexology services. Studies show that most first impressions take place in a blink of an eye (1/10 of a second).

So how you do put your best foot forward? Your appearance and your office appearance are the first encounter. But beyond that can you define reflexology and explain what is does? Do you have an answer to the question, "Is there any research on reflexology?"

Salesmen are prepared for first impressions. They carry "props" with them, sales information formulated for best impact. As the "seller" of your reflexology services, you will want to make favorable impressions with good prop to help your business grow and succeed.
Starting and Growing Your Reflexology Business

We're always being asked for advice about starting a reflexology business or building a clientele. The thought that comes to mind is the old salesman's adage for successfully making a sale: catch 'em, keep 'em and convince 'em. This is not so far a notion for you and your successful reflexology business. With this newsletter, we're starting the first in a series of three about marketing (catching 'em), establishing (keep 'em) and maintaining (convincing 'em) your reflexology business.

Here is an example of how to catch 'em-how to market your services.

We recently received a call from a very nice person in Kansas City who wanted to launch his reflexology business. I asked if he had a plan to let others know about his business.  Had he informed his family, friends, church group members and / or social group that he was starting a reflexology business. He was surprised-mainly that he had not thought of that. I pointed out the fact that, with email, it was very easy to do. Then I told him about the courtesy call  letting other businesses in the area know that you are there. Once you've selected a location for an office, visit the surrounding businesses and tell them you're making a courtesy call to let them know about your new business.

Be sure to bring along business cards, brochures, reflexology charts and, even, a little presentation package. You also should consider carrying along some cards good for a complimentary reflexology session. They're not for giving to everyone but people who seem avidly interested. The promotional materials will also be given to your family, friends etc. Tell them you want to spread the word about what you're doing. Can they help by passing out such materials?

The point of all this is to create a buzz about your business.  Promotional materials are reminders about your business. In-hand materials serve as a reminder after your initial contact and give people time to think about you,  extending this period of initial contact. Ultimately, when someone thinks, my feet are killing me or my hands are killing me, the materials help them remember you as a possible solution.

During the initial contact, be prepared to tell people what reflexology is and how it can help them. In business it's called the elevator presentation, what you would say to someone to describe your services during a brief elevator ride. The most common things people want to know are answers to the questions: What is reflexology? and Is there any research behind this?

Props help establish a reflexology business. Read on if you would if you would like to learn more about our "props," materials that work well to make a good impression for your reflexology business.

The brochures Can Reflexology Help Me? and What Is Reflexology? answer such needs with attractive literature personalized with your name and phone number. They provide promotional material to leave with others and include sound bites to help you tell others about reflexology succinctly.

Reflexology charts are particularly effective during an initial contact because they are an immediate conversation piece. The foot and hand reflexology charts are a long-lasting reminder about your business. (People never seem to throw them away, always saving them as a reference.)
