Reflexology's impact on the brain is just now being explored both with post traumatic stress disorder and the the third in our functional MRI series on vision centers in the brain.
Where it goes from here is anyone's guess. It is in one way supremely logical that the foot as a part of the locomotive system does in fact interplay with the brain and it's function. the question becomes can this intimate relationship be harnessed for changing the way our bodies function.

In an fMRI study by Hong Kong researchers, reflexology technique stimulation of the eye reflex area activated a region of the brain matching acu-point stimulation of stroke patients with vision defects but not the visual part of the brain.
