Downtown Colorado, Inc.Our 2012 conference, Design, Develop & Deliver: Partnerships for Shaping Vital Downtowns, begins tomorrow! This year's conference has more to offer than ever before so we expanded our schedule! The conference will kick off early tomorrow morning!  

Here are a few tips to make the most of your conference experience!  

  •  Arrive early, especially on Thursday! President Obama is speaking in Golden and traffic will be tied up. See details below. 
  • See sessions you have signed up for! Did you know that if you are a DCI member registered for the conference you can download your schedule? Click here for instructions on how to do this! Please note that you may change your concurrent sessions during the conference.

Art-on-the-Brix Mobile Tour 

Art-on-the-Brix has generously offered a discounted class which will be held on September 12 at 4:20pm.

At ART-ON-THE-BRIX anyone can unleash their inner artist amidst friends and co-workers. This casual yet upscale studio in the heart of historic downtown Golden combines playful, easy-to-follow art classes instructed by local artists with delicious wine, light snacks, and fun games to entertain all during this class. We inspire all types of people to get those creative juices flowing. The experience is positive and light-hearted, encouraging for those who choose to follow along or those who want to release their inhibitions and go outside the lines.

Join DCI at the Networking Dinner!
The Networking Dinner has become a favorite event of conference attendees! Don't miss out on an opportunity to network with your fellow attendees at the beautiful Table Mountain Inn Kokopelli Room. The networking dinner will include a welcome from the Golden Mayor, review impacts of legislative redistricting, and participate in a networking activity.

The networking dinner will be held on Wednesday, September 12, at 6:15 pm. Please note that the networking dinner is a ticketed event. Space is limited and available on a first-come basis so register today! 

 

Obama Traffic Alert 

Arrive Early on Thursday!

 

As you may have heard, President Barrack Obama will be speaking in Golden this Thursday, September 13.

 

Due to this exciting event, traffic in downtown Golden will be affected. We are advising all conference attendees to arrive early on Thursday! Below are additional details we have received that will affect arrival/departure traffic:

  • Washington and 8th Avenue will remain open, except for when the motorcade comes and goes. The motorcade is expected to arrive between 10-11am and leave between 12-2. However, these times may fluctuate.
  • 10th Avenue from Illinois west will be closed early to 2pm.
  • Parking on 8th Avenue will be prohibited as posted.
  • 8th Avenue will be closed from wherever the motorcade stops during the event, potentially all the way to Cheyenne depending on the size of the entourage.

 

On Thursday morning registration will open at 7:30am and a breakfast buffet will be available beginning at 8:00am. Thursday's opening plenary, Destination Downtown! with Jon Schallert begins at 8:15am. Please arrive early to ensure you can make the most of your conference experience!
