Welcome to our new - & return - clients & subscribers!

Remember last month's tease "LuckyDuck recently started a new and very colourful website - for someone whose work we greatly admire! All will be revealed next issue . . . . "? This month's lead tells the story.
The first page of another just-launched site is home to a new concept for Lunenburg. As for the website itself, LuckyDuck can make claim to building it, but the design and credit belongs to Hilary Scott!
Meanwhile, this issue is packed with all sorts of updates and news from our photography and website clients.
Comments on any of our projects and story ideas are always welcome. As are enquiries about our services - email Jodie or Allan Or call 902-766-4548. More: Get the whole LuckyDuck story!

Art quilting - commissions, workshops, trunk shows and how to quilt kits
 | |
Amish Quilt by Anna Davison
|
MAHONE BAY - Anna Davison began quilting in the early '70s when she tried her hand at a baby quilt.
Now, more than 40 years and hundreds of quilts later, her passion is for art quilting. "The embellishments are beautiful," she says, eyes twinkling.
Anna does commissions, workshops and trunk shows. She produces how-to-quilt kits. Ten of her designs are licensed to be made by a fair-trade women's cooperative in Thailand and sold exclusively at Nova Scotia's Mahone Bay Quilt Shop.

Charles Lantz Cabinetry | |
In partnership with "contemporary and reduced" architecture
SOUTH SHORE - CLC played a starring role with a significant build of a "Contemporary and reduced architectural" project along the shore.
CLC kitchen, interior doors, custom vanities, work station, built-in shelving . . . the owner was understandably pleased about the results of this most challenging build.

Applause for Charles Lantz:
"Following the concept of contemporary and reduced architecture, our main concern was to find a cabinet and furniture builder who had the capacity, ambition and know-how to follow our specifications.
"With Norman Whynot on our side, we found Charles Lantz and his entire crew of cabinet builders were not only eager to fulfill the high demand on quality, European based measurements, special techniques and custom-made designs, they also had the ambition to finish the job at the highest level of craftsmanship." - South Shore homeowner

LuckyDuck photo shoot for Scotiabank
| | New photos for new branch!
BRIDGEWATER - When Scotiabank opened a new branch in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, they needed a new set of team photos. It was a fun project for sure!
We had 10 "models" - including Heather, photo right. Several photos, generally of two poses, were taken of each, then looked over and tweaked if need be. It went like clockwork!
Below are a couple of my favourite photos of the morning - Debbie and Tanya.

More - applause for LuckyDuck: "Jodie's real easy to work with and she made us all look great!" - Heather Fralic, Branch Manager, Scotiabank Bridgewater

LuckyDuck photo shoot for artist Craig Rubadoux
| | Dazzling morning of colour!
ROSE BAY - Artist Craig Rubadoux divides much of his time between Nova Scotia and Florida. His paintings are online at the Dabbert Gallery of Fine Painting & Sculpture.
"In my work," he notes, "I express exuberance, the joy of life, a spontaneous celebration. With line
and color I express the inner energy, the spirit, the essence of life."
In October, I was delighted to do a photo shoot of Craig's latest 44 paintings.

Photo shoot for Shriners' latest variety show
BRIDGEWATER - Morris and Myrtle Hirtle are headlining the Shriners' latest variety show. "We're going to have a lot of fun that day," says producer Sharon Rhyno.
"We booked our show around this well-loved South Shore comedy duo because the audience loves them. From the moment you hear Morris blow the foghorn yelling into the audience for his wife Myrtle - she with her hair in curlers - you will not stop laughing for the next 20-plus minutes."
The Shriners' latest show will be Sunday, November 20 at 1pm. Their new, permanent venue is the Masonic Hall, 216 North Street, across from Rhyno's, Bridgewater. "We had great feedback last month," says Sharon. "Everybody enjoyed it."
Tickets will be on sale at the door - be warned, these events always sell out.
As for who is Morris & Myrtle Hirtle? We're not sure, but we are sure their good friends Chris Anderson & Janet Mason could tell us!
