Greetings!

Every day at WCRC I witness powerful acts of generosity:
· Women sharing their stories in support groups
· Women emerging from their cancer treatment committed to volunteer on behalf of others
· Staff, volunteers and board members overcoming tremendous obstacles with open hearts
· Donors giving us the means to continue.
2011 has been filled with challenge and triumph as we've marked WCRC's 25th anniversary year. And the celebration is not quite complete.
Please join us on February 6, 2012 from 6-9 pm at Yoshi's Oakland for an evening of dining and jazz. See below for more information. I look forward to seeing you there!
With gratitude, Peggy

Linda Tillery is a veteran vocalist, percussionist, Grammy © nominated producer and cultural historian whose career has spanned 44 years. Her powerful, shimmering alto voice has been showcased in such groups as the Loading Zone, The Slim's House Band, Zasu Pitts Memorial Orchestra, Bobby McFerrin's Voicestra, Ray Obiedo and Kick, Four On The Floor, her own Cultural Heritage Choir and most recently, Hills to Hollers.
Jazz recording artist, songwriter and educator Nicolas Bearde blends genres of jazz, soul and blues as he takes you on a musical journey. An original and current member of Bobby McFerrin's renowned vocal ensemble, "Voicestra" for over two decades, and its off-shoot, SoVoSo, Nicolas has long been recognized as an adept and fearless improviser, and his artistry transcends his vocal performances. |
2011 was a year full of events, celebrations (25 years for WCRC!) and outreach. WCRC's staff, board of directors, volunteers, clients, and Swim A Mile swimmers have worked hard to make sure that our programs and services are supported. Because of the financial support of people like you, WCRC's doors remain open and welcoming to women and their families who are seeking assistance and a safe haven during a very difficult time. Our individual donors are the foundation of our support and the donations that we receive ensure our financial security as we begin a new year.
Please take a moment to open your hearts and send your contribution -- it's a great way to give back to your community, your neighbors and for many of you, your loved ones and friends. You can donate here or send a check to 5741 Telegraph Oakland 94609. Thank you in advance for remembering us!
Warm wishes for a prosperous and healthy New Year. |
