News From The Women's Cancer Resource Center
|
Greetings!
Gentle readers, I have a favor to ask of you. Please complete the readership survey that accompanies this month's e-Bulletin.
You will help us to better communicate our mission, programs, successes and challenges by letting us know what you enjoy and how we can improve. One lucky respondent will receive a $50 gift card to Havana Cuban Cuisine in Alameda or Walnut Creek.
June promises to be a really busy month! WCRC supporters are responding generously to our mid-year appeal letter ( click here), my niece Anna graduates from high school and she, her mother and I plan a vacation together afterward, the 2009/2010 budget and operating plan go to the Board for approval, and nearly every weekend is marked by a wonderful community event to benefit WCRC. My deep thanks to these friends of the Center for raising funds for WCRC:
Dan Golia for his "one grumpy man walk" from San Jose to San Francisco over Memorial Day weekend;
Heidi Mayer for the First Annual Community Golf Tournament at Tilden Park Golf Course on May 31;
Susan Liroff for an afternoon of song and laughter on May 31 at The Space;
The Bay Area Dragon Boat Foundation for the Paddle for Life at Jack London Square on June 6; and
Dean McCully for People Paddle for the Cure in Foster City on June 13. These events will make it possible for WCRC to successfully meet its revenue goals for 2008/2009 - possibly the most challenging year for fundraising ever.
Wishing you a wonderful summer,
Peggy McGuire Executive Director Women's Cancer Resource Center
