Big Winner Announced for Lakes Region Tourism Association's

4th annual $10,000 Sweepstakes by the Lake Event  presented by T-Bones & Cactus Jack's


On Friday, April 1st, 2011 from 6:30-11:00pm the Lakes Region Tourism Association held it's 4th annual Sweepstakes by the Lake fundraiser at Church Landing in Meredith.

"This year's baseball theme was great fun and we received some wonderful feedback. Hannah Davis sang the National Anthem and Gail Batstone, General Manager of the Inns and Spa at Mill Falls, and her sales team threw out the ceremonial first pitch. " said Amy Landers, Executive Director of the Lakes Region Association. "I love to watch the excitement build as we get down to the final few numbers. The energy in the room is just fantastic and it's all to raise funds for such an integral part of our local economy."

This year's grand prize winner of the $10,000 sweepstakes prize was Lou Guevin. Lou is very active in the local community with his many 'hats' including as an Executive at the Laconia Savings Bank.

Funds raised at this 4th annual sweepstakes event will allow the Lakes Region Tourism Association to enhance their marketing efforts to bring more visitors and their subsequent spending to the area's businesses. In addition, funds will also be used to increase the association's financial contribution for the Annual Mildred Beach Hospitality Scholarship that is awarded each fall at the Association's Annual Meeting to an area college student.

Sweepstakes by the Lake sponsors that had generously declared their support for the enhancement of tourism promotion include T-Bones Great American Eatery & Cactus Jack's Grill & Watering Hole, The Inns & Spa at Mill Falls, The Scott Lawson Companies, New Hampshire Employers Insurance Company, Common Man Family of Restaurants, Martignetti Wine and Spirits, Waste Management, Weirs Action Committee, Steele Hill Resort, Gunstock Mountain Resort, Tylergraphics, Amoskeag Beverages - Coors Light, Sadler Insurance, Metrocast, NPC, Laconia Savings Bank, Steven E Geer, CPA, Perkins, norecob Imprimeurs.Printers, The Boston Globe, and Lakes Region Community College.

The Lakes Region Association represents over 440 businesses including lodging properties, campgrounds, restaurants, attractions, marinas, golf courses, real estate companies, retail and related shops, and many service entities.

Participation and support of this and other association fundraising events is instrumental in assisting local businesses and the overall economy in the region through maintaining and boosting the sizable and indispensable amount of tourism promotion the association provides for its members on an in-state, out-of-state, national and international level.
