LRA at Boston Travel Show 

On February 11-13, 2011 the Lakes Region Association was in Boston, MA representing our members and the region at the Boston Travel Show. 
A special thanks to all members who participated in our give a ways and sweepstakes which allowed us to gather names, addresses and emails so that we can continue to promote the region to this group.

 

International Marketing

The Lakes Region Association partners with White Mountain Attractions, NH Division of Travel & Tourism Development and Discover New England to promote the region and bring visitors to the Lakes Region. The Region was represented at The Holiday and Travel Show in Manchester England January 14th - 16th.  Approximately 65,000 visitors attend and is the most established consumer event in the UK.

Kim Sperry represented the Lakes Region at the Dublin Holiday World Show January 28th - 30th, Irish consumer show that attracts approximately 55,000    travelers who are looking to gather information and book travel plans each year.  The numbers of this year's show remained strong and attendees were looking for advice while making travel decisions.

 

On Line Billing

In an effort to streamline our accounting system we are converting to an on line billing system. If you have not already done so, please contact us to verify the correct contact and email address.

Publications

We are finalizing our Where to Guide- Distribution 250,000 and Map & Guide 600,000.  It is not too late to participate and increase your exposure but you need to act FAST.  Our final deadline for these publications is February 21, 2011.  Please contact us immediately if you are interested in participating.
All members receive a member listing in the Where To Guide and must approve the listing information.  We have sent electronic proofs out.  If you have not yet  responded or have not seen a proof please contact us immediately.  We appreciate your help with this.  Our goal is to provide accurate information for all of our members.  Proofs for the Map & Guide will be going out shortly.

Do you maintain your events on a Google Calendar? 
The Lakes Region Association is looking at a new online calendar system that would receive Google Calendar feeds. Maintaining your own Google Calendar would not only give you more exposure in the search engines, you can embed it in your own website and it could feed into ours giving you instant exposure our online calendar. Please send us your feedback and whether you have or plan to take advantage of this Google application so we can make a decision on whether it is the best fit for our members.

Latitude 43 Charters, Center Harbor - The new Latitude 43° yacht is a 30' Back Cove Yacht manufactured in Rockland, Maine.

 

Gunstock Mountain Resort, Gilford - On Memorial Day Weekend, Gunstock will open the newest attraction in the Lakes Region.  The Aerial Treetops Adventures course will include 8 different courses through an area the size of 4 by 2  football fields.

 

American Police Motorcycle Museum, Meredith - Grand Opening Spring 2011. Dedicated to preserve the pioneer history of the early police motorcycle and the men that rode them.

 

Her Prerogative, Meredith - Her Prerogative has introduced 'From Soldier To Soldier', an awareness and fundraising campaign in support of wounded veterans and their families.

 

Tanger Outlet Center, Tilton - Tanger Outlets just announced a New Mobile Application.

 

Ox-K Discovery Center & Farm, Gilford - Ox-K Farm is becoming a nonprofit organization.

 

Experience Squam Private Boating Excursions, Holderness - Experience Squam will be opening as soon as the ice goes out on Squam Lake.  

 

Pemi Valley Moose Tours, Lincoln - The Moose Tour now has a larger coach to take groups on a three-hour moose excursion through the White Mountains and Grand North.

Governor John Lynch will lead a Trade Mission to Montreal, Canada, from April 7-8, 2011. The Trade Mission, organized by the N.H. International Trade Resource Center (ITRC), is intended to assist New Hampshire businesses with exports to Canada. In addition, The Governor and delegation will promote tourism, investment and cultural relations between New Hampshire and Quebec.
