Lakes Region Association Awards 'Ron Meade On the Track to Tourism' Scholarship at 34th Governor's Conference on Tourism to Delia Day

Delia Day & Amy Landers  | Tilton NH - On Tuesday, May 6, 2010, The Lakes Region Association (LRA) was proud to award the 'Ron Meade on the Track to Tourism' scholarship to Delia Day of Belmont during the awards luncheon at the 34rd Governor's Conference on Tourism held in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The scholarship was established in 2008 in honor of Ronald Meade, a devoted and long standing President and Board of Director of the Lakes Region Association. The scholarship, to be presented annually at the Governor's Conference on Tourism, is awarded to individuals who reside in the State of New Hampshire pursuing a career in tourism and/or hospitality and are enrolled or accepted at an institution of higher education.
Amy Landers, Executive Director of LRA presented the scholarship award to Delia Day, a senior at Belmont High School. Delia is a member of the National Honor Society, the National English Honor Society, Student Council and is captain of Belmont's Dance Team. Delia is also an active participant in the Belmont school choir and the Suncook Valley Chorale.
"Delia is a hard working student who has devoted a lot of time to various committees and organizations throughout her high school years," said Landers. "She has also been employed in the tourism industry working at the Tilt'n Diner to gain experience prior to attending college. We are thrilled to have a student from the Lakes Region to be entering the Hospitality Management Program at Endicott College."
