LRA 'Ron Meade On the Track to Tourism' Scholarship
On Tuesday, May
6, 2010, The Lakes Region Association (LRA) was proud to award the 'Ron Meade on
the Track to Tourism' scholarship to Delia Day of Belmont during the awards
dinner at the 34rd Governor's Conference on Tourism held in Portsmouth, New
Hampshire. The scholarship was established in 2008 in honor of Ronald Meade, a
devoted and long standing President and Board of Director of the Lakes Region
Association. Delia, a student at Belmont High School, is a member of the National Honor Society, the
National English Honor Society, Student Council and is captain of
Belmont's Dance Team. Delia is also an active participant in
the Belmont school choir and the Suncook Valley Chorale.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED Become a Granite State Ambassador!
Do you love helping people? Do you love New Hampshire? Are you
interested in helping travelers? Become an award winning "Granite State
Ambassador". Training for the Lakes Region Association's visitor information centers in Tilton and Alton Bay is
scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, June 14th & 15th at the Common
Man Inn & Spa, Plymouth NH. The Granite State Ambassadors (GSA)
training program provides 14 hours of learning activities that
reinforce the tools needed to meet and exceed the expectations of
guests and residents to the state of New Hampshire. "GSA" training
certifies you to volunteer at visitor centers and front line guest
service desks around the state.

182-173 to pass its version of a budget fix - SB 450 - which
includes a provision to enable cities and towns to adopt
their own rooms and meals tax. It

the additional tax rate would be determined by each city and
