The staff has been busy with preparations for our annual $10,000 Sweepstakes Event - "Catch the Big One". T-Bones and Cactus Jack's have generously sponsored this event once again. The event will be held at Church Landing in Meredith and food will be provided by the Common Man Family of Restaurants.

We appreciate your support of our fundraisers. Not only are they a really good time with the LRAs affinity for lots-of-bang-for-your-buck but the money raised supports our annual scholarship funds and helps pay for our extensive marketing campaigns on your behalf. The launch of the VisitNH Facebook Fan Benefit was a great success! Thanks to a fantastic offer by our inaugural partner, the Inns and Spa at Mill Falls, and tremendous local, regional and national media coverage, we saw a 40% increase in the number of Facebook fans in the month of November alone! Spring Events Guide Submissions Requested 
It's time once again to submit your tourism events for a free listing in our Spring Events Guide. We're specifically looking for events taking place between March 1, 2010 and May 31, 2010. The deadline to submit events for the Spring Events Guide is January 15, 2009. Events must be posted to the visitnh.gov calendar of events by this date in order to be included in our guide.
To submit events, log in the Industry Members section of visitnh.gov and click on "Add an Event." Please email stacy.bell@dred.state.nh.us if you need assistance logging in.

Discover New England (DNE), the official regional marketing entity for the six New England states, has started registration for its 15th Annual Tourism Summit and International Marketplace to be held April 19-21, 2010, in Newport, Rhode Island.
The DNE Summit is the leading event where New England tourism-related businesses are able to meet and negotiate contracts with the companies who bring thousands of international travelers to New England.

WARN Act Summary
A new state law takes effect on January 1, 2010 that will require all New Hampshire employers with 75 or more employees to issue a warning before closing facilities or laying off more than one-third of the workforce. Download PDF
Safety Summary 2010
Safety Summary Forms must be filed biennially by businesses with 10 or more employees. If you have filed in 2008, you will need to file for 2010 Safety Summary Form To see if you already filed, enter your Federal Id #, email address and year of submission. Those who file electronically should keep the NH Department of Labor updated concerning changes in the contact person's email address as well as any other pertinent information.

On December 10th, Patrick's Pub & Eatery of Gilford hosted Pub Mania, which the organizers said would be the "funnest" fundraiser they have ever done. Not only did they out-do their goal of $30,000 by $17,000, but feedback from the event participants, of which there were almost 650, was ecstatic. More..

TANGER CELEBRATES THE HOLIDAYS BY MAKING A DONATION TO HELP FIGHT BREAST CANCER LOCALLY
In the spirit of the holidays and the season of giving, the Tanger Outlet Center in Tilton awarded a check in the amount of $67,141.79 to LRGHealthcare's Digital Mammography Campaign. The donation is part of Tanger's Annual Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.
