|
This year, take in the spectacular fall color show in the
Lakes Region of New Hampshire from a new perspective guaranteed to bring out
the adventurous spirit in you. As
you take advantage of all that the Lakes Region has to offer this foliage
season, round out your trip with lunch at a lakeside bistro, take in a
theatrical production or concert, visit our many attractions, apple pick, visit
the farmer's market, sign up for a crafting class, attend a lecture, browse a
craft fair, spend the day at an agricultural fair and lots more. You can find
detailed listings of these activities and even more events on our website,
www.lakesregion.org.
A few of our favorite more adventurous ways to view the fall
colors:
ON AND BY THE WATER
· Scenic train ride
along the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee
· Cruise the lake on a
70-foot replica turn-of-the-century paddle boat; private cruise boat; ship with
dining and entertainment or an antique boat.
· Explore the rivers
and lakes by canoe, kayak or rowboat;
SOARING DOWN A ZIP-LINE
Zip line at speeds up to 50 miles per hour
through gorges, across tree canopies, or over open slopes. Cross sky-bridges or
try your hand at a challenge course. The lakes and mountains have at least 4
distinct locations to get your thrills.
FROM A MOUNTAINSIDE CAVE
From mountaintop caves with mineral collecting
to glacial mountainside caves we provide the best views while catching you up
on your natural history.
FROM A NEW ENGLAND FARM CORN MAZE
An old New England Farm
tradition. Find you way through a 12' corn-field maze. Select the perfect
pumpkin, fresh farm stand vegetables and flowers when you're done.
WITH THE ANIMALS
· View the foliage
from mountainside trails on horseback
· Learn to drive your
own team of oxen
· Take the family on a wagon ride lead by a magnificent team of horses.
WITH YOUR OWN PRIVATE
ADVENTURE GUIDE
Fish, hike, rock
climb, paddle, bike... A personal guide can take a great day and turn it into an
experience you'll remember.
