TILTON NH, June 4, 2009 - On Friday, May 29th, the Lakes Region Association (LRA), the region's largest tourism marketing organization, held it's 5th Annual Hospitality Golf Tournament at Waukewan Golf Club in Meredith, New Hampshire. This year's tournament was presented by LRA's Signature Sponsors Comp-SIGMA Ltd and A.I.M. Mutual Insurance Company and was kicked off with bagpipe music by Elliot Smith of Concord.
Many came out to show their support for tourism and at the end of the day the first place award was presented to the Hoyt Management Group team of Waterville Valley, NH with Comp-SIGMA Ltd of Concord taking 2nd place honors followed closely by A.I.M Mutual Insurance Company of Concord.
At the post-tournament dinner, catered by Great New Hampshire Catering (T-Bones & Cactus Jack's), several honors were given including the Men's Longest Drive (Hole 8) won by Greg McClary; Women's Longest Drive (Hole 8) won by Nancy Ehlers; Men's Longest Putt (Hole 9) won by Tony Andrew; and Women's Longest Putt (Hole 9) won by Nancy Ehlers.
"The Association is excited at the amount of support we received at this year's tournament," said Amy Landers, Executive Director of the Lakes Region Association. "The funds raised at this annual event and other association fundraising events allow the Association to increase our marketing on an in-state, out-of-state, and international level. These efforts increase the overall economy of the region by bringing more visitors and their subsequent spending to the area's businesses. The funds raised will also be contributed
to the Association's two annual scholarships the Mildred Beach
Hospitality Scholarship and the Ron Meade "On the Track to Tourism."
