EWF International Forum members across the country received a $5,000 scholarship to the Meinders School of Business at Oklahoma City University. That's a total commitment of $500,000 for EWF's approximately 100 members in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Denver
Vince Orza, Dean of the Meinders School of Business, presented the scholarships to EWF members during the EWF's 10th Anniversary Celebration on April 10, 2008.
"I believe in a life of continuous learning, and the OCU scholarships make that possible for women who may not otherwise consider the option of a degree," said Darcie Harris, president and founder of EWF International. "What women learn in their EWF Forums and what they could learn in the classrooms creates a powerful combination that will have a ripple effect throughout our entire community and beyond."
"Women start businesses at twice the rate of men. These scholarships are just one way OCU is investing and supporting women in business," said Dr. Orza. "We're proud to support these amazing women as they pursue their bachelor's and master's degrees in business disciplines."
Each scholarship may be used toward any undergraduate or graduate degree, including core classes outside of the business school, and is transferable, meaning each member can pass it on to a family member, employee or colleague.
