Let's Get Green in the Data Center, And Save Some Money!
This month we would like to share some different methods that customers have used to save energy in their data centers.
1. In order to reduce energy bills avoid the mixing of hot air and cold air. The mixing of airs increases the overall temperature, thus reducing cooling efficiency. The ASHRAE Thermal Guideline states that a temperature of 68 - 77°F is the best inlet air temperature range for Class 1 servers. The cooling system in your data center should ensure that the inlet air temperature will keep the air constant within this range so that maximum energy efficiency is maintained.
2. Airflow can be improved with the use of a high-efficiency rack. SharkRack's innovative design provides a 72% air flow efficiency to cool your severs down. Replacing those old energy draining racks with new SharkRack energy-conscious racks allow lower energy costs as a result.
