More Than Fun and Games

Greetings!

What a great couple of months! We've been so busy we never even found the time to send out an April newsletter! So you might find May's a little long!

We had so much fun helping the Easter Bunny find the perfect treats for the many baskets he had to fill. For those of you that celebrated Easter we hope it was a lot of fun & the kiddos were happy on Easter morning!

We also launched our very first RPS April Break Scavenger Hunt this month. We had so much fun getting all the photos from the children that participated. The winners are listed below as are some of the fun photos we received.

Our next RPS Literacy Class starts next week. Below are all the details!

Finally, we are kicking off a series of fun summer opportunities at the store. More details to come but we did want to share a sneak peak of what we are working on below.

We hope to see you soon and looking forward to sharing all the fun new toys and games we continue to search out for you.

As always, go out and play!

A New RPS Literacy Session Starts Next Week.
Hurry in to sign up

Our 5 week Early Literacy Classes for 4 and 5 year old children and for Kindergarten age children is starting up again Tuesday May 8th and Wednesday May 9th.

Join us for our Early Literacy Classes which are designed to foster the development of essential literacy skills necessary for future reading success. Your child will build these fundamental skills in a developmentally appropriate manner through engaging and fun activities, with the ultimate goal of creating a life long love of reading and learning.

Tuesdays -

(Pre K ) AM Session 10:15-11-00

(PreK) PM Session 1:00-1:45

Wednesdays -

(Kindergarten) AM Session 10:15- 11:00

(Kindergarten) PM Session 1:00- 1:45

Classes are led by Kim Smith. Over the past 17 years Kim has worked in public and private school settings as a classroom teacher for Kindergarten through Grade 2. The last ten years she has focused on early intervention reading issues in young children.

As a classroom teacher, Kim realizes how many children needed a multi-sensory systematic approach in order to learn to read successfully. All children learn differently and her goal is to create a fun, kinesthetic and motivating learning environment for children to develop a love of reading. Kim is also trained in the Barton Reading and Spelling Program, which is an Ortin-Gillingham Based Program.

Cost of the groups are $125.00 for the 5 week sessions.

Email  [email protected] with any questions or to enroll your child. You can also come by the store to pick up an application so we can learn more about your child.

Summertime Fun at RPS!

That's right, we are scheming away and putting together some super fun opportunities for your little one to participate in this summer.

We're working hard to put together our first ever RPS Team Challenge Hour. After attending an inspiring presentation by Tony Wagner, we put our thinking caps on and came up with the idea to offer team building classes for children of all ages. Each week your child will be faced with a challenge they must work out with other children. The intent is to develop team building skills, strategic thinking, problem solving, and understating the principle of risk taking - making mistakes to eventually find a solution. More details to come.

We will also be offering a Toy Predictor Session - for children to come in and test out toys and games and predict whether or not they will be a hit or a bust at our store. We will feature their predictions in the store, on our Facebook page and in our newsletter. We plan to even have a recommend by section in our store just for this class! Should be fun.

We are also going to be offering drop in art times where your children are welcome to stop by and make a fun and simple craft.

Finally, we will be offering social skills and literacy sessions over the summer. More details to come on these sessions and all of the above opportunities. Get excited, we sure are.
