CDC Will Link Public Health EHRs with Immunization Tracking System

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention plans to link public health (local and state health departments) electronic health records (EHRs) with immunization tracking system. The integrated system will combine with CDC's vaccine tracking system in consolidating immunization history. More» 

 

HRSA Plans to Revamp Immunization Systems and Birth Records

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) said in an announcement for grant opportunities, "we are at a point in time where health information exchanges and immunization information systems could work together to add value to each other." The plan will incorporate projects to expand and enable maternal and child health information exchange on immunization records across the organization, and, additionally, for the development of electronic birth records. ONC Seeks Public Comment on the Federal Health IT Strategic Plan

 

Health Information Technology's (ONC's) strategy for coordinating with the public and private sector to realize Congress and the administration's health IT agenda: improving the quality, efficiency, safety and patient-centeredness of healthcare. The public comment period is now open. Comments must be submitted via the Federal Health IT Buzz Blog and the comment period will end Friday, April 22 at 11:59 PM EDT. HIMSS Davies Public Health Award

 

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) is accepting applications for the 2011 HIMSS Davies Awards of Excellence. The awards program honors hospitals and health systems, independent physician practices, and public health and community health organizations that have successfully achieved value from EHRs to improve healthcare delivery. The award is a great opportunity to show the cases of the public health role in the world of electronic health information and meaningful use. Public Health Informatics Certificate Training Program-JHSPH

 

The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH), in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins Schools of Medicine and Nursing and the Public Health Data Standards Consortium, is pleased to announce that the Public Health Informatics Training Program is accepting applications.
