Dear Knitters and Kumihimo-ists!

Karen
Hi there,

Thanks again to those of you that hosted classes this month. It is such a pleasure meeting all of you and even more, I love it when you show me the beautiful things that you have created. We all have our "own take" on things and I love to see the wide variety of creativity.

Hard to imagine that in a few short days I will be basking in the sun in Oaxaca, Mexico. We are taking 45 people on our trip and I will be teaching most of them Kumihimo. I'm planning to explore all the artsy nooks and crannies of Oaxaca and I hope to bring back lots of cool stuff that will incorporate nicely into our Kumihimo and Knitting projects. Until then....

Happy Braiding and Knitting - Karen

P.S. My online shop is open BUT shipping will be postponed until I return on March 14th. Many of you came by my "home" shop and picked up supplies so lots of you are in good shape. Thank  you.

New Arrivals !

TOHO Premium Japanese 6/0 Round Seed Beads

Seed Beads

I have tried a variety of Seed Beads and, by far, the TOHO Japanese Seed Beads are the best. They are acclaimed as the "highest quality seed bead in the world today as they feature the best quality and consistency". The colors are vast and beautiful.

TOHO Japanese Seed Beads characteristically have the most uniform and largest hole allowing a variety of threads to easily and consistently pass through. In addition, the larger the hole the lighter the bead. You'll get more beads in a gram of TOHO Seed beads than you will in a gram by another manufacturer.  In other words, "All grams are not equal".

In many stores you will find TOHO Seed beads commonly packaged in tubes with either 7 or 9 grams of beads per tube.
We package our TOHO seed beads in bags of 12 grams. This will give you about 190 - 200 beads. Gram per gram, nobody (that I know of) beats our price on TOHO Japanese 6/0 Round Seed Beads!

Kumihimo "Artist" Showcase
Stone Pendant
"Stone Pendant" by Sharon Praetzel

"Stone Pendant" by Sharon Praetzel

This Kumihimo Cord is an 8 strand single color braid.  Sharon used the Dark Olive "Petite" Kumihimo Satin Cord. The semi-precious stone pendant was purchased at the What a Knit Shop. Her necklace is beautiful with a sense of sophistication!  Sharon took her first Kumihimo Class just a couple of weeks ago! In addition to her necklace, Sharon has made MANY fantastic Kumihimo bracelets for her friends. She confesses to being "hooked" and admits that her husband has even timed her bracelet making speed! Check out her necklace in the Kumihimo Gallery Slideshow.
