Blessings
This month, I feel blessed. How amazing is this early and unexpected Spring? According to Dictionary.com a blessing is a special favor, a mercy, or a benefit. The past few weeks, our agency has been blessed in many ways. I was humbled by the invitation to contribute to the series in the Aiken Standard about how to improve our community (Read the story). I was blessed with overwhelming positive responses from people who were touched by my honesty on the topic of our Suicide Bereavement Support group. Chrissa Matthews, an MHA Board member who also contributed shared a heartfelt account of how she has been impacted by our work at Nurture Home (Read the story). If you missed either of these go to the links provided here.

Project Vision 2012
Nurture Home is grateful to the United Way of Aiken's Project Vision program. We have a skilled organizer who leads our team of volunteers and even has developed a spreadsheet to plan for the next year's Project Vision Day. Their commitment to Nurture Home helps us keep the families who live there safe and secure.

CSN Awards Grant
The Community Service Network meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month. This is a meeting coordinated specifically for networking and sharing of information. Grants are awarded quarterly based on votes from members. This month, Welcome Baby was selected as recipient for the grant. Thank you, CSN Members for blessing us!

Aiken's Cookin' 2012
Our annual fundraiser, Aiken's Cookin' with Celebrity Chefs will be held on June 8th at The Willcox. Letters to potential sponsors and chefs went out a couple of weeks ago. Four sponsorships were received just a week later! Six chef teams have responded.
You don't want to miss this event at The Willcox. Tickets will be available here at our office, at Material Things and at Tea Garden Gifts next week! |

Community Fellowship
Spring beckons outdoor fellowship! Strong friendships with local churches continue to enrich both Nurture Home and our friends from Operation Santa. Aiken's First Baptist Church invited our moms and children from Nurture Home for an Easter Egg Hunt and dinner.
Solid Rock Baptist Church will host a picnic for Operation Santa participants. It's especially nice to see events like this that are a part of our everyday life; but, maybe not for the people we serve. This just reassures me that God blesses us so that we may bless others.

Blessings, accomplishments, or success...
whatever you call it, I know it wouldn't be possible without your support.
