Jim Mendrinos

Jim has been entertaining comedy audiences since the age of 19. For almost two decades he has brought his observations, opinions and inspired lunacy to countless audiences to overwhelming praise. His style is effortless and his material is the type you will quote for months!

How good a comedy writer is Jim Mendrinos? He wrote the book on it - literally! The Complete Idiot's Guide to Comedy Writing was released in 2004. But don't take our word for it, come see him and and our other two comedians March 23, 2012!

This year the Foundation has designated the Intergenerational Program as recipients of the funds raised from this event. The Intergenerational Program is a co-collaborative effort between Baptist Health Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and Glen Worden Elementary School in Scotia. This program has been in existence for 21 years. Unfortunately, the GIVE Grant that funded this endeavor has been cut by New York State. The impact of the program has been huge in terms of building friendships, learning about community and volunteerism. We have see it build confidence, leadership, responsibility and empathy in the students while our elderly residents have felt needed, respected, and the program reinforces that they are important members of our community.

Tree of Life

We all know someone who is special, somone who has made a lasting impact upon our life. It may be a family member or a friend who has been especially important to you. When we discover a relationship meaningful to our life it gives us a wonderful feeling to be able to honor that individual and perhaps memorialize them in a special way.

A charitable gift is a lasting way to remember a loved one. Your gift in memory of a loved one, whether to remember them, or celebrate the life they are living, helps The Baptist Health System Foundation in so many ways. The Baptist Health System Foundation's mission is to raise funds that support education and innovation related to health care, especially to serve the needs of seniors. Our programs are aimed at improving the quality of life for our Residents and their families.

Our Tree of Life which resides in our Main Lobby here at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, is a wonderful way to make a special and lasting gift while honoring someone you love.

A $500 donation allows you to have a brass leaf engraved, and we can also arrange a dedication ceremony for your gift where friends and family can attend. Donations in the amount of $5,000 or more will allow you to have you custom crafted message memorialized on an engraved stone and include a personalized dedication ceremony including a celebration reception with your loved ones, officiated by our own Interfaith Chaplain, Mark Chaffin.

For more information on how you can have your loved one included in The Tree of Life, please contact Ruth Tietz, Director of Marketing & Development at Baptist Health System at (518) 370-4700 ext 123.
