Healthy Foods and Beverages
Working towards healthier food and beverage options in vending machines, at meetings, for snacks, at community meal programs, and in other areas identified by our partners.
Land Use
Promoting the use of agency land and facilities and surrounding land in ways that contribute to healthy eating and active living (for example, community gardens, marked walking and biking routes, and safe routes to school partnerships)
Active Living
Striving for quality physical activity and decreased sedentary behavior for all youth who attend after-school programs. Working towards worksite wellness policies and programs that encourage staff to be role models for healthy eating and active living.
Curriculum and Professional
Development
Identifying appropriate healthy eating and active living curricula for youth-serving staff to use with youth. Creating a comprehensive, sustained and systematic professional development approach to improve staff skills and knowledge about healthy eating and active living.
