A letter from our President
Greetings!
Our joint luncheon with the Salinas Valley Business Women's
Network was so much fun. SVBWN outdid
themselves hosting this spectacular event at the Elks Club in Salinas. Each table was uniquely decorated and we had
a great turn out - nearly 90 people. Fabulous raffle prizes, mini facials, shoulder massages were among the
many activities. Featured speaker, Alisa
Becerra, KSBW Action News Weekend Anchor gave a delightful talk on Creating
Work Life Balance. Thank you to Leinette Limtiaco, President of SVBWN and the
entire event committee for a great joint luncheon. Theresa Ream our Publicity Chairperson is doing an
incredible job of booking mixer events for the remainder of the year. Our most recent mixer at the Spa on the Plaza
at the Portola Hotel was well attended and featured special spa treatments/massages
and guest speaker Valerie Ramsey and her daughter Heather Hummel, co-authors of
"Gracefully" - a touching book about looking your best at any age. We were treated to yummy appetizers and outstanding
wine from Otter Cove poured by winemaker Richard Oh. If you haven't attended a PWN mixer, put Aug 10th
on your calendar and visit Mon Amie a women's consignment boutique in Carmel,
5:30-7:30 pm. Should be a lot of fun and they have great merchandise. Finally, we are back to our first Wednesday meeting
scheduled for Aug. 4 featuring Karen Hudson and Lily Hills, woman's empowerment
workshop leaders, speaking on the topic of "The Power of your Feminine Side". If you want to learn about tapping
into your intuition, creativity and passion to help grow your business, don't
miss this one. See you all there! Denise Kaku, Kaku Consulting Denise Kaku, PWN President 2010 |

Mixer at Spa at the Plaza
We had a very exciting Mixer at Spa at the Plaza with more than
80 people in attendance. What fun we had getting relaxing spa treatments, at the
great mixer price of $35 for as many treatments as we wanted and what a treat
to meet our local celebrity Valerie Ramsey, author of "Gracefully". Marc and Spa on the Plaza, you
really know how to throw a party!

Testimonials
For: Zee Labega
From: Laurie Bend We took Zee's offer to have her
create a one-minute video to place on our website...for FREE! It sounded
too good to be true. Zee came to our office and videotaped a variety of things to help tell
our chiropractic story. She was very professional and made great
suggestions about what shots we should include in the video. We have had the video on our website for nearly three months and have
gotten very good feedback on it. If you are thinking about having an informational video done about your business, call Zee Labega. You'll be impressed!
********** For: Eric and Karen Sonne - Freedom Medical Transportation, Kyani, and Peace of Mind Dog Rescue From: Donna Brandt - Primerica This past month I met with Eric and Karen to get to know them better
because you can see that they are very ambitious and hard-working
people. I got to learn more about the Kyani products and business model
and then got a tour of the medical transportation vehicle, which is
very cool.
********** For: Cammie Jones - Cammie Jones Organizing and Lynne Sloane - Care Solutions/Choice Home Health Care/Community Care From: Donna Brandt - Primerica I attended their workshop "Declare Your Independence from Clutter" at
the Carmel Foundation, and it was great. I'm going to start my own
medical records binder to take on doctor visits! I then met Lynne at
her office and she has a lot of marketing experience and shared with me
her perspective on the long term care issue. I'm thrilled to know and
refer both women's work.
********** For: Cynthia Duvall - Classic Residence by Hyatt From: Donna Brandt - Primerica I had lunch with Cynthia and then toured the facility. If you haven't
seen it, you must! Some day, you or someone you love will need an
independent and/or assisted living senior rental community. Shop your
options before the need arises. Cynthia is lovely and hospitable and
eager to show off her venue. Check it out.
********** For: Molly Steele - Attorney at Law and Mediator From: Donna Brandt - Primerica I attended Molly's informational talk on the legal differences between
marriage and co-habitation. The information was empowering, and now I
know where her office is and more about what she does. Also, a friend
of mine who knows Molly in the legal realm speaks very highly of her.
********** For: Juliette Ferguson - Vemma Nutrition From: Donna Brandt - Primerica Juliette and I met at a coffee shop to get to know each other better,
and we chatted a lot about health issues and different paths to
wellness, which is something I'm interested in. She has so much energy
and even brought a young woman who is shadowing and assisting her - a
wonderful idea in mentoring young women!
**********
For: Debi Siljander MD - Monterey Physicians Medical Group From: Donna Brandt - Primerica I am in need of a primary care physician and met with Dr. Siljander at
her new office in Monterey on Cass Street. I believe she is a good fit
for me and look forward to having her as a part of my wellness team!
********** For: Mary Potter - Pacific Grove Travel From: Donna Brandt - Primerica I just booked a cruise with the assistance of Mary and her office, and I
am very impressed with the level of service I have received so far.
Thank you!!
********** For: Doran Poma - Doran Poma Skincare From: Donna Brandt - Primerica I had a relaxing, wonderful 60-minute facial from Doran at her office on
Lighthouse in New Monterey. I had an extremely and unusually stressful
day the day prior, so the benefits of Doran's pampering and expertise
were just what I needed. No matter what happens in life, we must all
put our best face forward!

A note from the editor:
I am sure you noticed we are trying a new format. We hope this will be easier for the membership. Those who opt-out of the e-blasts can now do so while still receiving the Networking Newsletter. It also eliminates the need to open attachments. As you can see there are links that will take you directly to our PWN website to see the latest calendar updates, testimonials and meeting information that may not have been available at the time of publishing. If you cannot see the pictures please add newsforpwn@gmail to your safe senders list or click the view with pictures link at the top of the email. Please feel free to contact me with any questions on how to use the newsletter or if you would like to become a sponsor.
