GEORGE GILBEAU
CAMERA OPERATOR

George Gilbeau is a veteran camera operator and was on the team at YC 2011.  A graduate of NAIT, Gilbeau has worked in broadcast for almost 20 years.  Currently, when he's not drafted by AXE for live events, he works for Rogers Broadcasting in Edmonton.  He is also an incredibly accomplished guitar player.

LIVE EVENT TIPS
TIP:  The timing of an event is critical to its success.  Before you book your event, check as many of the local schedules and calendars to see if there are any other major events that could impact on your attendance.  Is there a big sporting event or game happening?  Are there other cultural events or festivals?  Check out the schedules of all the major venues like Edmonton Expo, Rexall, Commonwealth, Shaw, Jubilee, Winspear and even the U of A.  A little research will go a long way to ensuring that your event's attendance won't be impacted by another event happening at the same time.

YC ALBERTA 2011

REXALL & EDMONTON EXPO

YC1

It's one of our biggest production projects of the year.  YC Alberta 2011 drew tens of thousands of fans to the 3 day event, May 27 - 29, produced by Extreme Dream Ministries led by Mike Love who created the original concert series years ago.   AXE Productions deployed multiple stages.  It was also the first deployment of the KIMOVISION VIDEO WALL, an 11 by 40 screen that is one the largest in Western Canada.

YC2

It took a crew of 75 people including the AXE team and members of IATSE a day and half to set up.

 YC3

The 3 day festival featured 18 bands including Switchfoot, Hawk Nelson, The Almost, Disciple, Lincoln Brewster, The Afters, Fireflight and Tenth Avenue North.

YC4

Even AXE Productions' Vice President, Kelly Kimo, got into the act mixing live sound for one of the bands.  Apparently, he set a record for LOUD.
