| Development of a winning team is one of the keys to developing a highly successful and profitable business which will free up time to allow business leaders and owners to work more ON the business and their life.
Here are the first 2 out of my '6 Keys to a Winning Team'...
1. Strong LeadershipIn my experience most people get confused between management and leadership; Management is mostly about processes, doing things right now to delegate and drive people to complete current tasks required to meet the immediate operational needs. Leadership is mostly about behaviour, doing the right things to motivate and inspire people toward an envisioned future and create the framework (a culture) to achieve that vision. Studies have shown that trust and confidence in leadership is the single most reliable predictor of employee satisfaction in an organization. With all their in-fighting and poor performances was Raymond Domenech of France leading his team or simply managing his team with a defined style during France's disastrous World Cup Finals? Regardless of the leadership style, every successful leader must exhibit the qualities of passion and responsibility and take a vested personal interest in those who look to them for guidance, growth, decisions, and development. If Personal Leadership is about finding the greatness in you; People leadership is about 'eliciting' the greatness that 'already' exists in others.

Common Goal: What was the common goal of each team who made it to the World Cup Finals? Perhaps with the exception of France;-) it was of course to win the World Cup. In progressive realisation of that common objective each team set themselves goals to achieve for each game. Each player in a team was tasked to achieve individual goals as part of their defined responsibilities, (playing positions) by their 'coach' during each respective match. Common business goals offer direction to keep the team focused on the core purpose and business vision. Accomplishment and achievement depend upon the underlying infrastructure of clearly defined and cascading realistic goals that adhere to the acronym for "SMART" goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Results-oriented, Time-bound).
