Glitter Ball 3 Contest! |
|
The Bloodsugars from NYC are coming to Minneapolis to perform at Glitter Ball 3. They want to know about your most awkward, outrageous, and silly or even painful High School Prom moment.
E-mail your story (150 words or less, pleaase) to rockstar@irockthecause.org and The Bloodsugars will choose their favorite story. You will win a copy of their critically acclaimed CD "I can't go on, I'll Go On" plus two tickets to Glitter Ball 3 and back stage passes to party with the band. "If the current year were 1984 I would have a huge poster of The Bloodsugars hanging in my dorm room. Each song from "I can't Go On, I'll Go on" is like a long lost mixed tape of all my favorite 80's bands.". - Scott Herold CEO Rock the Cause
"The Brookyln-based foursome takes radio-ready melodies and power chord guitar rock and blends them with dance floor beats, keyboards, and synths. The group's debut EP, BQEP, rides on the neon glow of six, tightly wound pop songs riddled with catchy hooks." - NPR
"No matter how low your blood sugar, when you hear these songs you'll go on, and find yourself in the mood to dance. The irresistible beats and catchy hooks of this tight synth-pop quartet would enhance any party.". - The New Yorker

UPCOMING EVENTS |
2/27/10: Rock the Cause Campus: St. Olaf |
The Last Word: Working with Big Brothers Big Sisters to create Glitter Ball 3 has been a fun, challenging, rewarding, fulfilling, joyful and humbling experience. With only a few months of planning and advertising, BBBS has seen an incredible uptick in mentors, as well as a substantial increase of activity on their Facebook and Twitter accounts. Our partnership has made an incredible impact in a relatively short time.
We've often said that we accomplish more with 'ten bucks and a pair of chopsticks' than many other organizations do with their traditional modalities. But when we actually see the impact we're fostering, we know we're making the world a brighter place.
Thanks to everyone who's stepped up, volunteered or contributed to Big Brothers Big Sisters. You rock - and we salute you - for putting your time and effort out in the community to help others!
Rock On!
The Rock the Cause Team
