3rd Annual Kiwanis Cattle Auction

Move over turkeys the cows, chickens and pigs are taking over La Conner. Beginning June 1st the 4th Annual Cash Cow Art will be popping up in shops all over La Conner. Over 30 artists will have pieces from paintings to quilts to sculpture on exhibit during the month of June and end with an auction on July 9th.

A map will be provided at each shop with the location of the art marked so you can walk the town and enjoy the fabulous pieces of art. Any of the art in the shops can be purchased during the month of June and July with a live auction to be held 3 p.m., Saturday, July 9th at the La Conner Fruit & Produce Market.

Hellam's Vineyard Wine Shop is pleased to announce the summer sailing schedule for our 2011 Winemaker Dinner Cruises! These very popular trips include sightseeing through some of most beautiful saltwater scenery in the state, tasting some of the best wine Washington has to offer and enjoying gourmet foods including Dungeness crab onboard the 100' Mystic Sea, a comfortable touring boat based in Anacortes. This year we'll be offering two trips; one in July, and the other in August. The La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum has a 'Call for Entries' for our first International Juried & Judged Show, to be held September 30-October 1, & 2, 2011.

We are looking for pieces in the following categories: Traditional, Non-Traditional, Wearable Art, and Eco-Green. Winning entries will be featured in a special exhibit at the La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum titled "AWE: Award Winning Entries" from October 5 -December 30, 2011.
