La Conner's Rotary 46th Annual Historic

Saturday Feb. 26th,

you are invited to participate in the 14th annual Smelt Run during the Smelt Derby Festival in La Conner on Saturday, February 26th. Registration and number pick-up opens at 8:30 am at La Conner Middle School, 305 N. 6th Street.

This 5K/10K run is USATF certified course. Don't like to run? Sign up for the 2M family walk or Kids Dash.

Proceeds from the Smelt Run benefit the Skagit Symphony's Youth Program. This program includes free School Concerts for 1300 local fifth graders and a Family Concert appropriate for youth ages 3 to 103!

Local Hair Salon promotes Campus Walk 

Out of the Darkness LogoLa Conner Hair Design invites you to help support their team! They are fundraising for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and will be joining thousands of people nationwide to walk in the "Out of the Darkness Campus Walks" at Skagit Valley College Campus Walk on Saturday, March 12, 2011.
The AFSP is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 33,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP's mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.
Any contribution will help the work of AFSP, and all donations are 100% tax deductible. Donating online is safe and easy! Donations can only be made to individuals, but the total each participant raises goes toward our team goal. We have set up a team for La Conner Hair Design and people can donate through the web site or they can mail a check to La Conner Hair Design, PO Box 701, La Conner, WA 98257. La Conner Institute of Performing Arts is proud to bring you Sabo & Sabo on Friday,

March 11, 2011 at 7:30 pm. Victoria Ebel-Sabo and Dan Sabo; accomplished pianist and composer Victoria Ebel-Sabo is recognized in the field of music for her work in musical ballet, sheet music, collections and choral works. She teaches throughout the country. She joins Dan Sabo, former student of renowned French pianist Yvonne Loriod-Messiaen. He has performed as a soloist and duo pianist in Europe and the USA, specializing in Russian and French music. The Sabos bring not only their well balanced technical artistry but enjoy relating directly to their audience. They will offer a collage of solo, duet and original compositions featuring Ravel, Dvorak and Janacek. Maple Hall is located at 104 Commerical, La Conner.

Searching for Soul is a 60 year survey of photographic portraits of Northwest Artists. The awaited restoration gift of $40,000 from M.J. Murdock will be presented this spring and has challenged the museum to raise an additional $40,000 in matching funds in order to acquire the second half of their contribution.  The group is excited to start work on the exterior renovation this spring.  Located at 703 S. 2nd Street La Conner.
